Overview
This article describes what features are available with SMS Notifications enabled.
How are SMS Notifications enabled?
Live Locations: SMS Notifications are a paid service. It must be ordered through Salesforce using the Cloud-Add Ons section to be enabled. If you have ordered SMS Notifications and it is still not enabled, please contact Orders@heartland.us.
Demo Locations: By default, SMS Notifications are enabled for Demo locations.
SMS Texting Functions
Below is a list of available functions added when SMS Notifications are enabled.
Order Up Alerts
- Log into the Admin Console.
- In the Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Display Formats.
- In the Display Formats screen, select an existing display format.
- In the Settings panel, in the Order Up Alerts list, select SMS Message Guest or Both.
- Click Save.
This will send a notification to the guest’s phone number when an order is bumped off of the KDS.
Delivery Instructions
- In the Admin Console’s Main Menu, click Location Setup, then Staff.
- In the Staff screen, select a delivery driver’s staff record.
- In the Settings panel, enter the staff member’s phone number in the Phone.
When you assign an order to a delivery driver, the POS sends a message to the driver’s phone number that includes the customer’s delivery address and any listed delivery instructions.
Waitlist Alerts
- In the POS, tap Options in the top right corner.
- In the Options menu, tap Manager, then tap General.
- Enable the Waitlist.
Customers will be alerted when you add them to the wait list. When you tap New Guest, the POS will prompt you to enter a phone number. When you save the number, the POS will send the message to the customer.
The customer will be alerted when their table is ready.
The POS sends text when you select a waiting customer on the wait list and then tap Send Text Message.
If the location uses Scan to Pay is enabled, the POS will also let guests know that they can download the Loyalty App to pay for the meal.
