Overview
This article describes how to set up a PAX D210 to run as a Pay at the Table device.
Disclaimer: The PAX D210 integration with Pay at the Table is ONLY supported with Genius Payment processing. It will require a special BroadPOS template to be loaded for Genius in order to function properly. Attempting to setup PAX D210 with Pay at the Table with any other payment processor other than Genius; will result with an unsuccessful install.
Genius Account Number
In order to setup PAD D210 as a Pay at the Table device you will first need to have the account number for the location using Genius. Keep this account number on hand, as you will need it for setup in BroadPOS.
- Log into the Genius Admin Portal.
- Navigate to Resellers tab on right-hand panel and search for the dealer.
- Navigate to Accounts tab on right-hand panel and search for Location.
- Navigate to Locations tab and select the store we are doing configuration for.
- Note the Account Number of the location.
The Account Number will be listed as a 12-digit number.
PAX D210 Terminal
Entering Account Number on Terminal
- Power the device on.
- Press PAX Menu button on the Terminal.
- Enter the default password (916860) and press the green button.
- Press the down arrow on screen and select (1. System Settings).
- Press the down arrow twice and select (1. Pay At The Table).
- Select (4. Server page).
- Type account number for Genius (pax/patt/<Account Number>).
- Press Enter.
- Press Cancel three times to exit.
WiFi Settings
- Power the device on.
- Press PAX Menu button.
- Enter the default password (916860) and press the green button.
- Press the down arrow on screen and select (2. Communication).
- Enter the password again.
- Press the down arrow twice.
- Select (1. WiFi Parameters).
- Select (1. SSID) and enter the name of the Wireless Network and press Enter.
- Select (3. Password) and enter the password for the Wireless Network.
- Press Cancel three times to exit.
- Make sure it connects to Wi-Fi (you will see the Wi-Fi icon).
- Repeat Steps 2-6.
- Select (DHCP Type) and select (2. Static).
- Press the down arrow.
- Select (1. IP Address).
- Note IP address.
- Press Cancel a few more times.
Genius Configuration
Creating Payment Terminal
- Log into the Genius Admin Portal.
- Navigate to Account (e.g. HRPOS Dealer).
- Navigate to Location (ex. David Demo).
- Click Location Setup on the left-side panel.
- Click Payment Terminals.
- Click New.
- Enter name for device.
- Enter IP Address for PAX D210 (IP Address that was used in wireless configuration).
- Select Prompt for Tip, if needed.
- Click Save, then click Publish to publish your changes.
Payment Terminal
- Open and log into Genius.
- Click User Menu.
- Click Manager.
- Click Payment Terminals.
- Select your PAX D210 device (wait until it shows Connected).
PATT
Performing a PATT Transaction
- Log into Genius with Employee PIN.
- Create a new ticket with desired items.
- Send Order.
- On the PAX D210, click Login on screen.
- PASSWORD: <Enter Employee PIN>.
- Click Enter or green check mark on screen.
- Select desired ticket on Open Ticket screen (open Genius tickets).
- Check Info Screen Appears > Click Function to continue.
- Option to Print, Pay, or Split appears.
Print will print the ticket info.
Pay will allow you to pay check in full.
Split will allow you to pay desired amounts across cards. - Select Pay.
- Select Payment Type.
- Select Credit.
- Enter tip amount, if needed and press Enter.
- Insert/swipe card.
- Sign after approval.
The Receipt should print. - Remove your credit card.
Performing a VOID
- Log into Genius.
- Select Search.
- Locate and select invoice needing a VOID.
- Select Payment.
- Select Void Payment.
Performing a Split Payment with PATT
- Log into Genius with Employee PIN.
- Create a new ticket with desired items.
- Send order.
- On the PAX D210, click the Login screen.
- PASSWORD: <Enter Employee PIN>.
- Click Enter or green check mark on screen.
- Select desired ticket on Open Ticket screen.
- Check Info Screen Appears > Click Function to continue.
Option to Print, Pay, or Split appears.
Print will print the ticket information.
Pay will allow you to pay check in full.
Split will allow you to pay desired amounts across cards. - Select Split.
- Enter amount desire to pay.
- Insert/swipe credit card.
- Sign after approval.
You will then be prompted again to pay remaining amount. - Continue process until invoice is fully paid.
