Does the dealer have to order anything special in Salesforce to enable this functionality?
Heartland Gift will reach out to dealers to confirm if the merchant would like Virtual Gift enabled on the account. If the merchant(s) account will have Virtual Gift, the dealer will need to provide the Heartland MID to the merchant to turn on.
What is the process of setting up this functionality? Is there anything needed from the Gift team?
In Heartland Restaurant, the Dealer must have Gift Card enabled for Heartland then enter the parameter information into the system. The Dealers will also need to make a Gift Card item in Heartland Restaurant for activations and e-gift.
Is there any extra cost associated with this functionality?
No - this is available for Heartland Restaurant POS only.
If there are multiple locations in a chain, what does the set up look like?
The virtual gift function only has to be turned on at one location. The merchant should choose which MID to use, since all virtual gift cards will be housed in the reports for liability for that specific MID.
