What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release. We have divided these by project area.
HRTL-59 – Support PAX Customer-Facing Display Option
Heartland Retail now allows merchants to take advantage of the customer-facing display function available with the PAX PX7 device. In order to access this functionality, you must first enable the Customer-Facing Display setting on a supported PAX device. Once you have configured the device, configure in Heartland Retail as described:
- Go to the Point of Sale screen and select the menu icon (displayed as ≡) located in the upper left corner.

- Go to Settings to open the connect app. The Customer Display Device dropdown will automatically display a list of all connected devices that support this feature.

- Select your device from the list to enable Customer Display.
HRTL-62 – Include Signature Data in PAX Response
With this release, we now include signature data in PAX transaction responses.
HRTL-210 – Implement Auto-Logout After Designated Inactivity Time
With this release, we introduce ‘Automatic Logout After Inactive Period’ so that users may easily configure their POS according to their needs. This is useful for customers sharing the same POS machine among multiple users. To take advantage of this feature, do the following:
- Go to the Settings page and select General.
- In the ‘Automatically Logout After Inactive Period’ section, select the desired value from the Automatically logout users after inactive for list.

By default, the Never option will be selected.
