What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-6864/9090 Print to USB-Connected Bixolon Printer in Windows
With this update, Windows systems can seamlessly identify Bixolon printers connected via USB without requiring manual driver installations. Additionally, when printing labels from the back office, these printers will be included in the Select Destination dropdown menu, allowing you to print labels in a quick and convenient manner. This integration extends to the following modals:
- Inventory items and transfers
- Purchasing orders and receipts
Please note that this enhancement is for use only in the scenarios outlined above. The Bixolon printer will not be visible in POS settings.
HRTL-9616 Improvements to ‘Delete Devices’ Screen
For a better user experience, we have implemented several improvements to the Delete Devices screen as follows:
- Devices are presented in alphabetical order across all tabs.
- The printer heading now reads Printer Devices instead of Receipt Printers.
- Non-actionable messages display for a maximum of 15 seconds, but will go away sooner if you change tabs or manually close the message.
- During the time the yellow confirmation prompt displays on the screen, the Delete Selected Devices button will be disabled, thereby directing the user’s focus to the displayed prompt.
- In cases where one or more devices could not be deleted, the POS will display a message to that effect with the option to Retry or Cancel.
HRTL-10006 Changed Behavior When Disconnecting From BigCommerce Store
For a smoother and more user-friendly experience, upon disconnecting from a BigCommerce store, the POS will now provide you with the choice to return to the BigCommerce integration page in addition to the confirmation message. This option allows you to quickly connect to a different BigCommerce store if you wish.
HRTL-10029 Implement ‘Combine Lines’ Setting in POS
This release introduces a new Combine Lines toggle to the POS settings screen.
- With this setting enabled, like items within any given transaction are collapsed into a single line reflecting the total quantity.
- With this setting disabled, each item has its own line with a quantity of one. This allows you to easily edit a single item within a transaction without impacting other like items in the same transaction.
By default, this setting will be enabled.
HRTL-10103 Open Find Modal When Searching from POS Search Bar
With this release, if a user manually enters a description or other non-barcode information into the POS search bar, instead of displaying an error, the POS will automatically open the find modal and will display any matching results.
HRTL-10151 Clarify Card Processing ‘Service Not Allowed’ Message
So that users can better understand and address failed credit card transactions, we have clarified the message that appears when a transaction is declined due to ‘Service not allowed.’ In such cases, the POS will now display a message reading, ‘Failed to process payment. Service is not allowed. Need to call card issuer.’ Likewise, the customer-facing display will display a message reading, ‘Unable to process payment. Call your card issuer for details.’
HRTL-10196 Adjust Vertical Alignment of Printed Jewelry Labels
In previous versions, the vertical alignment of jewelry labels produced by the Zebra label printer was such that the barcode number was positioned at the bottom edge of the label, leaving very little room for error. With this release, to eliminate the risk of these numbers being cut off, we have adjusted the alignment so that all information is safely distanced from the edge of the label.
HRTL-10216 Changed Behavior of ‘Cancel Report’ Button
To further improve the reporting experience, we have enhanced the Cancel Report button's functionality. Now, when you click it, the label updates to Canceling and the button deactivates while it finalizes the cancellation process. After completion, the button seamlessly disappears until you initiate another report.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-10225 Fixed Issue with Inventory Transfer Function
In earlier versions, users encountered difficulties performing inventory transfers. When navigating to the inventory section and opting for the transfer feature, they would try to import a line and proceed with the standard process. Despite receiving a message indicating a successful import, the item did not transfer as expected. In this latest release, these transfers now operate seamlessly and as intended.
HRTL-10304 Fixed Formatting of Customer Details Error Message
In earlier versions, entering invalid data on a customer page or leaving a required field blank in the POS would occasionally result in inconsistently formatted error messages. Moreover, required fields were not consistently marked as such. In this latest release, the POS now presents correctly formatted messages and appropriately indicates all required fields, ensuring a more consistent and user-friendly experience.
HRTL-10333 Fixed Incorrect Metrics in Reporting Error Message
In previous versions, if you attempted to run a report using certain metrics, the resulting error message would sometimes reflect incorrect metrics. For example, if you chose Beginning Inventory > Qty Owned as a parameter, the message would incorrectly cite Gift Card > Beginning Balance and Date as the parameter. With this release, the error messages reflect the correct parameters as expected.
HRTL-10360 Fixed Missing Notification for Required Address Fields in SGA
In previous versions, if you omitted address information when creating a new location in Self-Guided Access (SGA), the system did not notify you of the issue before allowing you to proceed via the Next button. With this release, the system displays a reminder to complete the required Country, City, and State fields, and highlights the fields. Once you have completed the fields, you can then select Next to continue with SGA.
HRTL-10427 Fixed Incorrect ‘Payments’ Status Issue in SGA
In previous versions, if, when going through Self-Guided Access (SGA), you left the Payments section incomplete and did not select Skip this for now, the system would erroneously check the Payments task as complete. As well, it would remove the check from the previously completed Locations, Stations, and Drawers task, thereby marking it as incomplete. With this release, the system correctly reflects the status of these SGA tasks as expected.
HRTL-10475 Updated Incorrect Link Behind ‘Send Feedback’ Option
In previous versions, some merchants utilizing Heartland Rebranding were unable to use the Send Feedback option. Attempts to do so took them to an incorrect link. We have corrected this and the option now opens the intended feedback link.
HRTL-10476 Fixed Modal Label When Updating Existing Station
In previous versions, if you attempted to edit an existing station, after opening the station from Locations, the modal that displayed included a New Station label above the Name field. To eliminate confusion, we have corrected this and the label no longer displays when editing existing stations.
HRTL-10477 Eliminated Redundant Inventory Transfer Validation Error
In previous versions, if you attempted to import an item in inventory transfers with a blank quantity, along with the initial validation error (‘Qty is invalid on row 1 with [blank]’). the POS displayed a second validation error (Qty qty requested should be a positive number on row 1 with [blank]’). Given that the second error message serves no purpose in such instances, as of this release, the POS now omits it and displays only the first error message.
HRTL-10514 Fixed ‘Tender’ Button Behavior When Adding In-Process Grid Item
In previous versions, if you attempted to add a grid item to a ticket while the grid was updating, the POS would display an error indicating that it failed to add the item. Simultaneously, the Tender button at the bottom of the screen would change to Please Wait. Instead of reverting to its normal state after the error resolved, the Tender button would continue to display as Please Wait until you manually refreshed the page. With this release, the Tender button reverts to its normal state in a timely manner as expected.
HRTL-10587 Fixed Scrolling Issue on Purchase Order Allocation Page
In previous versions, merchants were sometimes unable to scroll on the Edit Allocation page. With this release, users can scroll on the Edit Allocation page as expected.
