What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-7369 Implement ‘Restrict Returns to Parent Transaction’ Setting
To facilitate better control over sales returns, the Point of Sale (POS) now includes a Restrict Returns to Parent Transaction setting. If you enable this setting, the POS will only allow returns if they are linked to a previously finalized sale, which we refer to as a ‘Parent Transaction’.
To begin a return, use the Find ticket modal (pictured below), select Return, then select items and quantities to return as needed.
To enforce the Restrict Returns to Parent Transaction setting, the POS will behave as follows for new tickets:
- The Return option will be greyed out.
- If you attempt to access the Return option from a new ticket, the POS will display an error message stating that it cannot switch to returns and that, if you wish to perform a return, you must use the Find function to select an eligible ticket.
- If you attempt to change the QTY of an item on a new ticket to a negative value, the POS will display an error informing you that items cannot be returned on the current ticket and directing you to use the Find function to select a ‘Parent Transaction’.
HRTL-8491 Implement Alert When Adding Out-of-Stock Item
To prevent users from creating a sale for an out-of-stock inventory item, the POS now displays an alert when attempting to add such items to a ticket.
This alert is for informational purposes only and does not prevent the user from adding the item if they so choose.
HRTL-10050 Implement New Gift Receipt Modal
This release includes a new Gift Receipt modal accessible via the Gift Receipt button that displays at the bottom of the finalized sale screen.
To open the gift receipt modal, select the Gift Receipt button. By default, all items listed in the modal will be deselected and, consequently, their quantities will not be editable.
Select the items you wish to include via the checkbox on the left and adjust quantities via the QTY field on the right if needed. When making selections, please note:
- If a selected item’s quantity is greater than one, you can edit it to include any value up to the purchased quantity. The system will validate quantities upon selection and alert you of any errors.
- If a selected item’s quantity is one, the quantity will be reflected as one and will not be editable.
If desired, you can select/deselect all items simultaneously by checking the box in the table header. Once you have made your selections, tap the Print Gift Receipt. The resulting gift receipt will reflect the selected items and quantities without pricing.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-10215 Fix Issue Deleting Items with Tags
In previous versions, if you attempted to delete an item with tags from the back office of POS, the deletion would fail and the POS would display an error to that effect. With this release, the POS handles such requests successfully as expected and without error.
HRTL-10329 Implement Consistent Button Size on Item Page
For better uniformity throughout the Heartland Retail app, we have updated the width and alignment of the buttons that display on the right side of the Items page to match those of other pages.
