What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-10416 Add Prominent Ticket Total Line to POS
For a better user experience, and for consistency with receipt format, we have added a prominent Ticket Total line to the POS. This line displays at the bottom of the screen in bold and reflects the item subtotal along with any applicable discounts and taxes.
HRTL-10549 Update PO Filter Functionality to Checkbox within PO
We have modified the filtering process for purchase orders based on a selected vendor so that, instead of being controlled by a backend setting (Enable purchase order vendor filter settings), it is now a checkbox within each created purchase order (PO). This checkbox, labeled Only show items for which Vendor Name is a vendor, determines which items display in both the Find modal and the Auto-Add modal. The displayed items change dynamically according to changes in the vendor selection and are saved within the PO. Along with this change, we have removed the now obsolete checkbox from the Auto-Add item modal, as well as the backend setting.
HRTL-10552 Prohibit Adding Disabled Items to Ticket
To offer merchants greater control over their inventory and sales, we have added a new Prohibit disabled items from being scanned onto ticket toggle to POS settings. By default, this setting will be turned off. With the setting enabled, if you attempt to add a disabled item to a ticket, the POS will display a notification that, ‘Disabled items cannot be added to a transaction.’ With the setting turned off, the system will allow you to add disabled items as was previously the case.
HRTL-10679 Allow for Location-Level PAX Communication Protocol
With this release, it is now possible for various locations within a single tenant to employ different PAX communication protocols. This means that merchants can designate any number of locations within the same tenant to use TCP/IP while continuing to use HTTP at other locations. With this in place, merchants can transition from one communication protocol to another methodically and in a controlled manner.
To implement this functionality, the POS detects the communication protocol configured for the PAX device during device discovery and it then uses that protocol for transaction processing.
For merchants running older versions of HRC, the POS will behave as previously with regard to the Use TCP/IP protocol for PAX feature flag. Specifically:
- If enabled, the entire tenant will employ TCP/IP communication for PAX.
- If disabled, the entire tenant will employ HTTP communication for PAX.
HRTL-10869 Update Unresolved Payments Banner for Consistency
For greater consistency across the POS, we have updated the unresolved payments banner so that it is better aligned with those displayed in other pages.
HRTL-10927 Update ‘Unresolved Payment’ Modal for Consistency
As with the unresolved payments banner, for greater consistency across the POS, we have updated the Unresolved Payment modal, including a redesigned Check Payment button, so that it is better aligned with those on other pages.
HRTL-10935 Update Unresolved Payment Toast Message Format
We have updated the format and placement of the toast message that appears after attempting to resolve an unresolved payment so that its appearance is consistent with other such messages that display across the POS.
HRTL-10995 Add Freight Costs to Analysis Reporting
So that merchants can track the newly implemented Freight Cost field on purchase order (PO) receipts, we have added a Gross Received Freight Cost metric to analysis reporting.
When the metric is selected, the resulting report will show the sum of all freight costs entered on PO receipts within the defined date range.
HRTL-11092 Implement PAX Communication Protocol Selection for Manually Added Devices
We have changed the dropdown options that display when manually adding a PAX device to an iOS system so that, instead of offering a single PAX option, there are now two options, PAX HTTP and PAX TCP/IP. With this change, merchants can easily designate their desired communication protocol for each manually added PAX device.
Please note that the availability of these options is dependent on the TCP/IP flag status in Landlord. Specifically:
- If enabled, when adding a new device, both options will display.
- If disabled, only PAX HTTP will display.
Merchants should note that, in order to function properly, the PAX communication protocol selection must match the communication protocol configured in the PAX device. To verify PAX configuration, please contact SIP support at 800-403-6934.
Furthermore, for existing manually added devices, the feature flag will have the following effect:
- If enabled, devices will display as PAX TCP/IP.
- If disabled, devices will display as PAX HTTP.
HRTL-11164 Implement Ability to Edit Primary Contact for Vendor
With this release, we have implemented the ability to edit the Primary Contact for vendors.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-10725 Fixed Settings Window Placement on Screen in iOS
In previous versions, the POS Settings screen on some iOS systems displayed in a manner that extended past the background margins. We have corrected this, so the window now displays correctly as expected.
HRTL-10733 Fixed Parent Group Dropdown Field Size in iOS
In previous versions, when creating a new button group, the Parent Group dropdown field was narrower than it should have been on some iOS systems. We have corrected this, and the dropdown now displays correctly as expected.
HRTL-10752 Fixed Customer Requirement Issue in Sales Orders
In previous versions, the customer field that displayed when creating a new sales order was erroneously marked with an asterisk which gave the impression that it was required. Since the customer is not required at this point in the process when the sales order is in pending status, we have removed the asterisk from the field. Once saved, upon opening an existing sales order, the system will check for customer information and, if there is no customer assigned, it will notify you that a customer is required to open the sales order and will prompt you to select one. As well, it then will validate shipping and billing addresses.
HRTL-10819 Fixed Duplicate Purchase Order Issue
We have fixed an issue that, in isolated cases, resulted in some closed purchase orders being duplicated. We have addressed this issue, and this duplication is no longer occurring.
HRTL-10895 Fixed Issue with Location Changing After Updating Settings
In previous versions, if a user updated a location and then saved changes, the system would automatically update that user to the updated location, regardless of the location of the station the user is currently logged into. For instance, if the user was logged into ‘Main Cashier’ station in the Boston location, and they edited the Seattle location, upon saving, the system would note the user as being logged into ‘Main Cashier’ in Seattle. With this release, the system handles such updates correctly and does not change the user’s location.
HRTL-10905 Fixed Cut-Off Description When Viewing Inventory Grid
In previous versions, some users reported that the descriptions in the far left column of the inventory grid were partially cut off from view. We have corrected this, and the descriptions now display in full as expected.
HRTL-11087 Fixed Daily Summary Issue When Reporting Denominations
In previous versions, when using drawer count denominations, some users encountered discrepancies in their Daily Sales and Payments Summary. With this release, the count denomination data and the Daily Sales and Payments Summary figures agree as expected.
HRTL-11115 Fixed ‘Remove’ Button Behavior in Sub-Filter Group Filter
In previous versions, if you attempted to delete a sub-group filter to a Total Spend/Total Qty filter in a promotion or coupon by clicking Remove, the auto-save process would fail. With this release, in such scenarios, the auto-save process behaves as expected.
HRTL-11229 Fixed Payment Failure Issue (‘Index 1, Size 1’)
In previous versions, there were isolated instances of credit card transaction failing with the error ‘Index 1, Size 1’. This resulted from the system’s mishandling of a comma in the cardholder name. With this release, the system handles such requests correctly as expected.
