What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-10155 Display Alert When Adding Unavailable Quantity to Ticket
This release introduces an alert that displays if you attempt to add more of the available stock of any given item to a ticket or sales order.
This alert is strictly informational and will not prevent you from adding such items to the ticket or sales order.
HRTL-10930 Add ‘Linked Transactions’ Toggle to Find Ticket Modal
For a better user experience when viewing tickets, we have added a Linked Transactions toggle to the Find Ticket modal.
Next to the toggle is a tooltip that, when tapped, displays an explanation of the toggle (‘This checkbox is to enable the ability to show results of returns that are linked to a parent transaction using the search bar.’).
When enabled, search results will include any returns linked to tickets matching the search terms to showcase any linked tickets together when searching for a transaction in the find ticket modal when the Reference Return feature flag is on.
Please note:
- The toggle displays only for merchants with Referenced Returns enabled.
- The toggle will be disabled by default.
- Once the toggle is enabled on any given device, it will remain enabled on that device, but will not sync to other devices.
- Search functionality with the toggle enabled will work using only reasonable search terms. It will not work with partial or invalid ticket IDs.
HRTL-11299 Add Freight Cost Line to PO Receipt PDFs
To give merchants a clearer picture of all cost components on purchase order receipts, we have added a Freight Cost line to PDFs of such receipts. Here is an example:
HRTL-11462 Implement Changes to Cancel Payment Request Process
This release includes enhancements to the cancel payment process for merchants using PAX devices with TCP/IP configuration. These enhancements are meant to more gracefully handle connectivity issues that often result in unresolved payments, and to thereby reduce duplicate payments and other reconcilement issues. If a user selects Cancel after having initiated a card payment, the POS will await a response from the PAX device as to whether the cancellation request is successful, and will notify the user of the response.
- If the transaction is cancelled successfully, the POS will abort the transaction and mark the payment as failed. As well, the PAX will abort its attempt to send the transaction to the payment gateway or, if aborting is not an option, it will auto-reverse the transaction.
- If the transaction is not cancelled successfully, after the designated timeout duration has passed, the user will be transitioned into the unresolved payments workflow.
HRTL-11561 Add Auto-Reconciliation into PAX Flow
This release includes enhancements that bring the auto-reconciliation process into the PAX flow. With these changes in place, the POS will automatically initiate the auto-reconciliation process immediately after a connectivity issue interrupts a card transaction during processing.
- If it is able to verify the payment status, it will notify the user of its success or failure so they can retry the transaction if needed.
- If it is unable to verify the payment status during such a scenario, it will then initiate the manual reconciliation flow.
HRTL-11741 Fixed Incorrect Time on Receipts
We have identified and fixed an issue that resulted in receipts sometimes printing with the wrong time stamp, despite the time being correctly reflected in other areas, such as reports and time stamps. This problem arose at the start of Daylight Saving Time and appears to be isolated to merchants in the Atlantic time zone who do not observe the time change. With this release, the time is captured and reflected consistently across the POS according to the merchant’s time zone and Daylight Saving Time configuration.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-11487 Fix Gift Card ‘Number’ Box Sizing on 10-Inch iPad
In previous versions, the Number field on the Gift Card modal was very narrow and allowed viewing of only a few digits of the entered value. With this release, the field width is sufficient to allow viewing of the entire entered value as intended.
HRTL-11586 Fix HRC Installation Issues on Windows Systems
In recent versions, merchants sometimes encountered issues installing updates to Heartland Retail Connect (HRC). These issues included JavaScript errors and blocking of HRC by Windows Firewall. We have resolved the underlying issues and merchants can now install and update HRC as intended.
HRTL-11647 Fixed eConduit Device Pairing Issue
We have fixed an issue that prevented users from pairing an eConduit payment device. When attempting to do so, after selecting Pair an eConduit device from the device dropdown, the eConduit modal would gray out and the prompt modal would be hidden in the background. With this release, the prompt modal displays on top as intended, thereby allowing users to successfully pair the eConduit payment device.
HRTL-11653 Fixed ‘Add New Device’ Button Formatting
We have fixed an issue that caused the text on the Add New Button option to be cut off on the top and bottom of the button. The font and button are now sized appropriately so that the text displays correctly and in full.
HRTL-11707 Fixed HRC Status in ‘About’ Modal
We have fixed an issue that caused the About modal to continuously indicate that Heartland Retail Connect (HRC) is ‘Checking for updates…’, regardless of its actual status. With this release, the About modal correctly reflects the status as expected.
HRTL-11710 Fixed ‘Failed to Parse XML’ Datacap Processing Error
After installing recent versions of Heartland Retail Connect (HRC), merchants processing card transactions via Datacap started to experience a ‘Failed to parse XML’ error. This resulted from HRC sending responses back to POS from Datacap that were not in the expected XML format and, therefore, could not be parsed by the POS. With this release, HRC sends responses in the expected XML format, thereby eliminating the parsing errors.
HRTL-11746 Fixed ‘Remove All Sales Tax’ Behavior
In previous versions, if, when attempting to remove tax from a ticket, you inadvertently double-tapped the Remove All Sales Tax button, the system would remove the tax amount twice, essentially resulting in a discount equal to the tax amount. We have changed the behavior so the POS will remove any tax amounts only once, regardless of how many times the button is clicked.
HRTL-11832 Fixed Reporting Export Issue with Location Filters
We have addressed an issue that prevented some merchants from exporting reports using location filters. Attempts to do so produced internal errors. Such reports now export without error as expected.
HRTL-11893 Fixed ‘+ Issue Gift Card’ in Back Office
After updating to the previous version, 2023.05.140, some merchants reported that they were no longer able to issue new gift cards from the back office using the + Issue Gift Card button. When they attempted to do so by tapping or clicking the button, the POS did not respond. We have addressed this issue, and the button now behaves as intended.
