Configuring the POS
To configure your POS to use Ticket Level Discounts (TLD), follow these steps:
From the POS, go to Sales and select either Promotions or Coupons.
In the example that follows, we have chosen Promotions but the process will be the same had we chosen Coupons except that coupons do not require Conditions.
Select the + New button to add a new promotion/coupon.
On the modal that opens, enter a name for your promotion/coupon. If you are creating a promotion, select appropriate values for the starting and ending dates and times. To save, select Create.
Once you have created your promotion, you are ready to add Conditions and Actions that, when matched by a transaction, will trigger the POS to apply the promotion. In this example, the POS will apply the promotion if the transaction is conducted at any of the designated locations.
For Ticket Level Discounts, there are two eligible Actions:
- Get $[X] off of entire order
- Get [x]% off of entire order
Once you have made your selections, select Save and then select Start to start the promotion.
You are now ready to go the POS where you can create a ticket and see the TLD promotion or coupon in action.
Using Ticket Level Discounts
To use Ticket Level Discounts in the POS,follow these steps:
Create a new ticket add desired items to it. If you are using a promotion for TLD, make sure the ticket meets the conditions defined in the promotion you wish to use.
- For Promotions, the POS will automatically apply to the ticket when conditions are met.
- For Coupons, you will need to enter the coupon code in the Scan item or coupon here and then hit enter.
Once the items are on the ticket and the promotion or coupon has been applied, you will see the TLD line underneath the items that were added to the ticket.
For returns, the TLD will be reflected at the bottom of the ticket, similar to how it shows on the sale, except that its amount will be in parentheses. This is to indicate a negative amount equal to the amount previously given on the discount.
Finally, with this enhancement, we have updated the receipt so that the TLD and sales tax will showcased on receipts, each with its own line, in order to accurately reflect what is shown on the POS.
