What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-10236 Improved Flow for Manual Credit Card Processing Failures via Vantiv
This release includes enhancements to the processing flow for manually entered credit card transactions processed via Vantiv. Previously if the CVV or date entered did not match the card, the payment would erroneously be marked as charged, despite having failed. To streamline the process in these instances, the POS will automatically void these failed transactions and prompt the user to try again.
HRTL-11021 Enhanced ‘Print Error’ Functionality During HRC Unavailability
For a friendlier user experience, in instances where Heartland Retail Connect (HRC) has become unavailable when the Print Error modal is displayed, instead of being simply informative, the message will now provide options.
Users can now either select Update HRC or they can view HRC troubleshooting steps by selecting Visit Our Support Article.
HRTL-12077 Remove ‘Refresh Connection’ Button from Clover Gateway
We have removed the recently added Refresh Connection button from the Clover gateway page. It was implemented to address connectivity issues that sometimes arose during the transition to Clover’s expiring token requirements. Since those requirements went in full effect as of August 1, the button is no longer needed.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-11667 Fixed Behavior When Adding Locations to Users
In previous versions, if you attempted to add a location to a user that was already part of their profile, the POS returned a ‘Request was invalid’ message, with no explanation as to the nature of the problem. To eliminate the possibility of this occurring, when a user selects Add Location from a user’s profile, the POS will now display only locations that are not currently part of that user’s profile.
HRTL-12665 Fixed Error When Closing Sales Modal Payment
In previous versions, if you attempted to apply a manually entered credit card payment for the full amount of a sales order, upon submitting the payment, the browser console would display a ‘Close is not a function’ error and the modal would hang on a blank page. With this release, in these instances, the modal closes and the payment processes as expected.
HRTL-12681 Fixed Inventory Alert Issue
In previous versions, the POS sometimes erroneously displayed inventory alerts when attempting to add an active item by entering its UPC code. This occurred when the UPC code of the intended item matched that of an inactive item.
With this release, the POS now filters out inactive items when querying inventory levels, thereby avoiding such errors.
HRTL-12695 Fixed Await Signature Behavior in Android with Verifone Device
In previous Android versions, it was possible to select Complete for a ticket in the POS before having submitted the signature on a connected Verifone payment device. As well, in some instances, upon completion of the ticket, it would print both a receipt and a signature slip, even though the signature had already been captured. With this release, the POS displays a ‘Please wait..’ modal that stays up until the customer has submitted their signature, and printed receipts reflect the captured signature.
HRTL-12696 Fixed Signature Capture Receipt Printing in Android with Verifone Device
In previous Android versions, merchants using signature capture on Verifone devices reported that, after the customer submitted their signature via the Verifone, the POS would still print a signature slip for the transaction. With this release, in such scenarios, printed receipts reflect the captured signature as expected.
HRTL-12700 Fixed ‘Enter’ Key Handling with Heartland Retail Gift Card
We have addressed a problem that sometimes prevented users from using the enter key on their keyboard when applying a Heartland Retail gift card payment to a ticket. This occurred when the gift card balance was lower than the amount due on the check. In these instances, after entering the gift card number, if you hit enter, the screen would flash and return to the ticket screen without adding the payment. If, however, the gift card balance was high enough to cover the amount due, the payment would be added successfully. With this release, the POS applies the payment as expected upon the enter key being pressed, regardless of whether the gift card balance covers the amount due.
