What’s New
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-12653 Reorder ‘Payments by Type’ Items in Reports
For a better user experience, we have reordered the items included in the Payments by Type section of the daily summary report. The new order is as follows:
- Cash
- Cash Rounding
- Custom Payment (individual payment types listed below in alphabetical order)
- Gift Card
- Credit Card (individual card types listed below in alphabetical order)
- Debit Card
HRTL-12274 Plug-and-Play for Star TSP143IV Receipt Printer via USB on Mac Devices
Heartland Retail now supports plug-and-play functionality for the Star TSP143IV receipt printer on Mac systems via USB connection. Once the Star printer is connected via USB, the POS will recognize that the device is connected and will display a green toast message to that effect when a user signs into the POS.
HRTL-12705 Implement Consistent Settings Modal Format
For a friendlier and more consistent user experience, we have updated the Point of Sale Settings modal format so that, regardless of screen size screen, it will display in a manner that maintains appropriate sizing and placement of its components.
This enhancement is also true of the modals accessed via the Settings screen, such as those for adding and deleting devices.
HRTL-12818 Normalize Payment Card Data Types in Reports
This release introduces a normalization of card payment types in reports so they no longer display in all caps. Instead, they will display with only the initial letter capitalized. For example, what previously displayed as AMERICAN EXPRESS will now display as American Express.
HRTL-12880 Automatically Include ‘1’ in Front of Phone Number
To avoid errors and to facilitate seamless delivery of text receipts, the system now automatically enters a ‘1’ (one) in front of phone numbers entered for this purpose. This change is present in both the Other Receipts modal of the POS and in the Text Message receipt option for tickets in the back office.
HRTL-12846 Add ‘Type’ and ‘MFA Required’ to Users Page
To facilitate quick and easy identification of user types and MFA requirements, we have added two new columns, TYPE and MFA REQUIRED, to the Users page. As an ‘Owner’ or as a user with ‘Manage Users’ permissions, you can enable/disable the MFA requirement for individual users as needed.
- TYPE will indicate if the user is Owner, Admin or Other.
- MFA REQUIRED will indicate if a user is required to use MFA.
To change a user’s MFA requirement, select the user and then switch the Require Multi-Factor Authentication for sign-in to Yes or No as needed.
Please note:
- The MFA requirement cannot be disabled for users designated as ‘Owner’ or those with ‘Manage Users’ privileges.
- A badge will display on the Owner’s profile to allow users, internal teams, and others to easily identify their role.
HRTL-12910 Update SSL Certificate for Heartland Retail Connect
To ensure maximal security and protection of data, this release includes an updated SSL certificate. With this update, we have performed a high-level validation of the Heartland Retail Connect (HRC) app to ensure that existing workflows continue to operate as expected, with a focus on those workflows related to payments.
Please note: Merchants using HRC must update their HRC version before the current SSL certificate expires on 10/19/2024.
HRTL-12946 Recolor ‘Connected to Customer Display’ Toast Message
To better represent the content of the ‘Connected to customer display’ toast message, which is essentially a success message, we have changed its color from gray to green.
HRTL-13058 Change Quick Items Breadcrumb Label to ‘Home’
When using Quick Item buttons, users previously had difficulty returning to the main page after making a selection. This was due to the fact that, not only was the ‘QI’ breadcrumb very small, but its label was confusing, which made it unclear that it was the way back to the main Quick Item buttons page. To improve navigation, we have renamed the breadcrumb ‘HOME’, which more clearly indicates its function. Additionally, the breadcrumb has been made wider for easier use.
Updates
The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-11224 Fix Refresh Issue When Deleting Last Item Image
In previous versions, if an item had only one image associated with it and you deleted that image, the item page would still display the image until you refreshed it. With this release, the page automatically refreshes to remove the image after such deletions, as is intended.
HRTL-12068 Fix Layaway Status After Reversing Deposit
In previous releases, if you removed a deposit from a layaway, instead of reverting its status back to pending, the system left the layaway in open status. With this release, the layaway status updates to pending in such scenarios as expected.
HRTL-12953 Fix iOS Crash When Reloading All Devices
We have fixed an issue that sometimes caused the iOS app to crash after a Reload All Devices request. The app now handles these requests as expected.
HRTL-13044 Fix Tax Issue on Accumula Return Tickets
In previous versions, merchants attempting to process returns on tickets originating from their eCommerce site through Accumula found that taxes present in the original sale were not added to the return. This release addresses this issue and taxes are now calculated and applied correctly during such returns as expected.
