Overview
This article describes how customers can use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to better protect their accounts in Online Ordering websites. Multi-Factor Authentication requires customers to verify their identity whenever they log into the Online Ordering website to ensure that they, and only they, can access their account.
Enabling Multi-Factor Authentication for Online Ordering
- Access the Online Ordering website and sign into your account.
- Click the Account icon on the top right corner of the screen.
- Click Manage Account.
- On the My Account page, select the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication switch.
The website will save the setting immediately. If necessary, you can disable the MFA requirement at any time by returning to the My Account page and toggling the Enable Multi-Factor Authentication switch.
Signing Into an Online Ordering Website with MFA
Once you enable the Multi-Factor Authentication requirement, the Online Ordering website will require you to verify your identity with an MFA code whenever you sign in again.
- Access the Online Ordering website.
- Click the Account icon on the top right corner of the screen.
The Sign-In panel displays. - In the Sign-in panel, enter a valid email and password, then click Sign In.
The program then displays a panel with verification code options. - To receive a verification code in an SMS text message, click Get Code By SMS.
or To receive a verification code in an email, click Get Code By Email.
The program will send a verification code by the method you select. This code will valid for five minutes, after which you will need to request a new code to log in.
The SMS verification option is only supported for U.S. and Canada phone numbers. - After receiving the verification code, enter it in the Enter verification code… box, then click Confirm.
- To return to the previous screen, click Back.
- To request a new verification code, click Resend code.
Once the program verifies the code successfully, it sign in the customer, who may proceed with placing an online order.
Creating a New Customer Account
- Access the Online Ordering website.
- Click the Account icon on the top right corner of the screen.
The Sign-In panel displays. - Select Create Account.
The program displays the Create Account panel. - Enter the required contact information in the various boxes, then click Create Account.
The program sends a verification code to the email address you entered in the Create Account panel. This code is valid for five minutes.
The program also displays the Confirm your account panel, requesting the code sent to your email address. - After receiving the verification code, enter it in the Email Verification box, then click Confirm.
The program then sends a verification code to the phone number you entered in the Create Account panel. This code is also valid for five minutes.
The program also displays the Confirm your account panel, requesting the code sent to your phone. - After receiving the verification code, enter it in the Phone Number Verification box, then click Confirm.
Once your email address and phone number are successfully verified, your account is created and you may proceed with placing an Online Order.
