Overview
This document describes the recently introduced Receipt Notes functionality for Heartland Retail. This allows you to include custom field input and reason code detail on printed receipts.

Receipt Notes Configuration
Receipt notes functionality relies on, and behaves according to, the status of various toggles and settings, as explained below.
Please note: This feature will be accessible only to customers using the standard receipt format. If you are using a custom receipt template and wish to use receipt notes, please reach out to support for assistance.
Custom Field Receipt Note Options
In order for custom field data to print on receipts, the Sales Transaction group must be assigned to the desired custom field, and the Print note on receipt toggle at the bottom of the modal must be enabled.
Other Settings
- Editable After Ticket/Invoice Completion: Toggle these settings on if you wish to be able to edit notes after a ticket or invoice has been completed.
- Limit number of characters: Toggle on if you wish to limit the length of notes. Once enabled, the modal will display a Maximum characters allowed field into which you can enter the desired value.
Reason Code Receipt Note Options
We have added the Print Note on Receipt toggle to the following reason code modals as well, allowing you to determine whether or not such actions print on guest receipts.
