Additional information
Installing an XC23 drive
The XC23 typically arrives with the drive already installed. If necessary, use this procedure to remove and/or replace an existing drive.
- Identify the covers on each side of the drive chassis.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove each cover.
- Plug in the USB Wi-Fi dongle.
- On the back of the terminal, remove the handscrew.
- Insert the drive into the chassis.
- Replace the handscrew.
- Connect the FeDP cable to the Main Display port.
- Connect the port end of the power cable to the DC in 19v port.
- Plug the power cable into an outlet.
- After installing all peripherals, replace both covers over the drive chassis.
Troubleshooting
The payment device may reinitialize under the following circumstances:
- When you run the POS app for the first time.
- When you restart the mobile or POS device.
- When the POS receives a "Publish" update from the Admin Portal.
- After you clear the POS application cache.
- After you uninstall or reinstall the POS app.
In such situations, we recommend you remain on the PIN screen for 2-3 minutes, to provide the device adequate time to fully initialize.
Also, after confirming its permissions, the Reader requires several minutes to initialize before it can receive and process a payment. Therefore, if you swipe a card on the Reader while it is still initializing, it will display a panel describing its status.
Tap Cancel to close the panel and return to the Checkout screen, then swipe the card again after the device finishes reinitializing.
