What’s New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
GNX-3486 Genius POS displays full ticket details before checkout
We have modified the Genius POS to display a ticket's full details (including taxes, totals, and amounts due) in the POS Ticket panel throughout the ticket's “life cycle”. In previous versions, the Genius POS only displayed a ticket's subtotal before you accessed the Checkout screen, and only then did it display a ticket's taxes, total, and amount due. We have changed this, and the POS now calculates and displays a ticket's full details, including its taxes, total, and amount due, immediately as you add items or make other changes to a ticket.
GNX-3602 Genius POS always displays Send button in Ticket screen's corner
In the Genius POS, we have modified the arrangement of the Send and Actions buttons in the Ticket panel when it displays on the left side of the screen. When you set the POS's Order Screen Layout setting to Left, the POS displays the Ticket panel on the left side of the screen, rather than the right side of the screen. However, in previous versions, the POS retained the arrangement of the Send, Checkout, and Actions buttons when displaying on the left side, which was awkward for many users. Therefore, we have modified the POS to reverse the positions of the Send and Actions buttons when displaying the Ticket panel on the left side of the screen. In other words, the POS always displays the Send button in the bottom corner of the screen, either right or left, depending on the Order Screen Layout setting.
Order Screen Layout: Right
Order Screen Layout: Left
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
GNX-1486 Genius Classic POS prints tickets properly when removed from KDS
In previous versions, if your location uses a Genius POS to run as its network's dedicated socket server, you may have encountered a problem with the KDS. Specifically, if the location's KDS was set to print tickets when they are removed, the KDS may have failed to print such tickets. In such cases, if you removed a ticket from the KDS (by accessing the KDS and tapping a ticket's Remove button) while the dedicated socket server was disconnected, the POS printed the ticket properly. But if you removed the ticket while the dedicated socket server was disconnected, the POS did not print the ticket. This problem only occurred if a Genius POS was running as the dedicated socket server, while a Genius Classic POS ran as the KDS. We have corrected this, and now when you remove a ticket from the KDS, the POS prints the ticket properly, regardless of the dedicated socket server's connection.
GNX-1507 POS prints orders removed from KDS with proper spacing
If your location is configured to print orders when you remove them from the KDS, the app may have printed kitchen slips with large unnecessary space between the listed menu item. This problem only occurred at locations with the following configuration:
- A Genius POS on an ELO device running as the location's dedicated socket server.
- An iOS device running the KDS.
- The KDS configured to print orders when they are removed from the KDS.
We have corrected this, and now when you remove an order from the KDS, the POS now prints its kitchen slips with proper spacing between menu items.
GNX-3229 POS displays card types and numbers properly in paid Pay-at-the-Table tickets
In previous versions, if your location uses the Pay-at-the-Table feature, you may have encountered a problem. For instance, a customer may have paid a ticket by swiping a credit card on the PAX device. Afterwards, if you accessed the paid ticket on the POS, the app may not have displayed the credit card's type or the last four digits of the card number in the Ticket display. We have corrected this, and now when you access a ticket paid with the Pay-at-the-Table process, the POS displays its card type and the card number's last four digits properly in the Ticket display.
