What's New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HR-5123 Menu Translations
We have introduced the Menu Translations feature to Genius for Restaurants. The Menu Translations feature enables your locations to offer their menus in multiple languages on customer-facing self-ordering platforms, such as Online Ordering and Kiosk. When a customer uses a Kiosk or Online Ordering and selects a supported language (for example, French), the menu items will automatically appear in French, provided you have entered the translations.
Currently, Genius supports translations for French and Spanish. While other languages may be considered in the future, they are not supported at this time.
For a detailed description of how to use the Menu Translations feature, please review the "Menu Translations User Guide".
HR-64429 POS prints all footer text properly on printed receipts
In previous versions, when the POS printed customer receipts, it may not have printed all of the receipt's footer text. In such cases, upon printing the receipt, the bottommost lines of footer text may have appeared "cut off". We have corrected this, and now when the POS prints a customer receipt with substantial footer tags, it prints all of the text properly.
HR-65131 Send ASAP Orders Without Hold Time feature now optional for EZ-Chow orders
If your location uses the EZ-Chow service, you can now set the POS to disable the Send ASAP Orders Without Hold Time feature when receiving and processing EZ-Chow orders. Normally, when you enable the Send ASAP Orders Without Hold Time feature, the POS applies the setting to all Online Ordering orders. With this update, you can now set the POS to apply the setting to all Online Ordering orders other than EZ-Chow orders.
In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Integrations. In the Integrations screen, click New. In the Integration Setup panel, in the Integration Type list, select EZ-Chow. In the settings for the EZ-Chow integration, we have added the Send ASAP Orders Without Hold Time check box. If you select this check box, the POS will remove the hold times from online orders received from the EZ-Chow service. If a customer specifies preparing the order as soon as possible, the program will prompt the kitchen to begin preparing the item immediately.
If you clear the Send ASAP Orders Without Hold Time check check box, the POS will not remove the hold times from orders received from the EZ-Chow service. Rather, it will remove the hold times from all online orders other than those received from the EZ-Chow service.
HR-65909 Revenue center filter added to Ingredients Report
You can now filter the Ingredients Reports by revenue center. In the Admin Portal's Main Menu, click Reports, then click Ingredients. In the Ingredients Report screen, we have added the Revenue Centers list. If you select a revenue center in this list, the program will filter the report to only include ingredients associated with that revenue center. If you select All Profit Centers (its default setting), the program will include ingredients from all revenue centers. (The Revenue Centers list is only visible if the account has existing revenue center records.)
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
HR-8782 Clock-in and clock-out photos display properly in Time Punches screen
In previous versions, the Admin Portal may have failed to display clock-in and clock-out photos in the Time Punches screen. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Time Punches. In the Time Punches screen, select an existing time punch. Normally, when a staff member member clocks in or out, the POS takes a photograph of the staff member. In the Time Punches screen, that photograph is displayed with the staff member's time punch record. However, in previous versions, if you reviewed a time punch in the Time Punches screen, the app may have failed to display the accompanying photograph. In such cases, the photographs were taken, but the app's links to the photographs were invalid. We have corrected this, and now when you review time punches in the Time Punches screen, the app displays their clock-in and clock-out photos properly.
HR-54094 POS no longer displays unpaid tickets as green in the Tickets screen
In previous versions, the POS may have displayed a ticket icon highlighted in green, even if it was unpaid. In certain circumstances, if you split a ticket, then accessed the ticket and removed all splits, the POS may have displayed that ticket's icon in green in the POS Ticket screen (indicating it is fully paid), even if no payment had been applied to the ticket.
We have corrected this, and now when you split a ticket and then remove all splits from the ticket, the POS displays its icon properly, with the appropriate color code, in the Ticket screen.
HR-56503 POS no longer delays when moving large tickets to another server
In previous versions, if your location uses the QSR service, you may have encountered problems moving large tickets from one server to another. Specifically, if you tried to move a ticket with an unusually large number of items from one server to another, the POS may have been unable to process the move. In some cases, the POS was able to process the move, but only after a lengthy delay. These failures and delays only occurred at locations that use the QSR service. We have corrected this problem, and now when you move a ticket with many items to another server, the POS moves the ticket properly without any delays.
HR-60186 POS sorts rooms properly in Verify Room on Save list
In previous versions, if your location uses the Verify Room on Save feature, the POS may have failed to sort the room options in the Verify Room list. In the POS General Settings screen, in the Device Options area, if you select the Verify Room on Save switch, the POS will prompt servers to select a room when they send a new order to its kitchen printers. Normally, when the POS displays the list of room options, it sorts the rooms in the list by the saved sort order in the Rooms screen. However, in previous versions, when the POS displayed the list of room options, it may not have sorted the rooms. We have corrected this, and now when the POS displays the Verify Room list, it sorts the room options by the sort order you have saved in the Room's screen.
HR-64499 Accurate totals for gross sales in Daily Summary Report
In previous versions, the Admin Portal may have miscalculated totals for gross sales in the Daily Summary Report. In certain circumstances, if you moved a menu item from one ticket to another, the Admin Portal may have included that item's price twice when calculating gross sales for the Daily Summary Report. In such cases, when calculating gross sales, the program failed to deduct the moved item's price from the total of its original ticket. We have corrected this, and the program now calculates total gross sales accurately in the Daily Summary Report.
