What's New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
GNX-239 Customizable "Guest Feedback" message added to POS Signature Capture screen
You can now set the POS to display a customized "Guest Feedback" message to display alongside the Customer Rating options. To access the Rooms screen, log into the Admin Console, then select an appropriate account and location. In the Admin Portal's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Rooms. In the Rooms screen, select an existing room. In the room's Settings screen, we have added the Guest Feedback Message box.
This box allows you to enter a text message, up to 30 characters long, that will display in the POS's Signature Capture screen, alongside the Customer Ratings options.
GNX-1874 Maps functionality on the XC23
We enabled existing Maps functionality on the XC23 POS device, including opening the map, displaying driving directions and route, and printing a receipt with text directions. When in a delivery room, the map button displays all tickets on the map in relation to the store. Select a pin on the map to open and view ticket details. Filter the map to display tickets by driver and unassigned. Assign drivers to tickets while the map is displayed.
GNX-4644 "Display as Line Items" option added to service charges
We have modified how the POS prints service charges on receipts when the Display as Line Items option is enabled. In the Admin Portal's Main Menu, click Menu, then click Service Charges/Fees. In the Service Charges/Fees screen, select New. In the service charge's Settings screen, if you select the Service Charges check box, the program displays the Display as Line Items check box. If you select the Display as Line Items check box, the POS will now print the service charge as a line item, preceding the subtotal, on printed receipts. If you clear the check box, the POS will print the service charge below the subtotal. This setting only applies to tickets paid with credit cards.
GNX-4960 Revised prompt text describing discarding unsent items when exiting tickets
We have revised the text of the prompt that the POS displays when you close a ticket with unsent menu items. In the POS, if you add items to a ticket, then send those items, then add more items to the ticket, then close the ticket without sending the new items, the POS displays a warning prompt to verify that you want to discard the unsent menu items from the ticket. However, in previous versions, the prompt suggested the action would discard the entire ticket. We have revised the text in the prompt to state more clearly that the action will discard only the unsent items on the ticket.
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
GNX-1321 Applying "No Limit" stock counts in POS Item Stock Management screen
In previous versions of Genius POS, you may have been unable to set an item's stock count to "No Limit" in the Item Stock Management screen. To access the Item Stock Management screen, log into the POS. In the POS Home screen, tap the Options button, then tap Settings. In the Manager Settings menu, tap Item Stock Management.
The Item Stock Management screen enables you to edit the stock counts of multiple menu items from within a single screen. It includes controls that enable you to search for items by category or menu section, enabling you to find and edit stock counts for multiple items.
After searching for and finding an item whose stock requires adjustment, you can enter a new count directly in the item's Count box, or modify the existing count by tapping the + and – buttons.
However, in previous versions, you could not edit an item's stock count to "No Limit" by using the + and – buttons. We have corrected this by making No Limit every item's default stock count. After finding and selecting an item, if you tap +, the POS will change the item's count from No Limit to 1. If you tap -, the POS will change the item's count from 1 to 0. To reset the item's count to No Limit, clear the Count box manually, then tap Save.
GNX-5727 Case sensitivity removed from POS ticket searches
In previous versions, if your location uses bar tabs, you may have encountered a problem with the POS Ticket Search screen. Specifically, after opening a ticket and pre-authorizing a customer's card, if you then accessed the ticket search screen and searched for the ticket by credit card name, the POS may have been unable to find the ticket. In such cases, the POS was unable to find the tickets because it was applying case sensitivity to its searches, which slowed the searches unnecessarily, or prevented tickets from being found at all. We have resolved this by removing case sensitivity from ticket searches, thereby improving its speed and reliability when searching for tickets by card name.
GNX-6071 POS now prints detailed transaction receipts properly for credit card orders
The POS now prints detailed transaction receipts for credit card orders. In the Admin Console’s Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Rooms. In the Rooms screen, select an existing room. In the room's Settings screen, if you select the Detailed Transaction Receipts check box, the POS includes each order’s itemized details on printed receipts for credit card and house account transactions from this room.
However, in previous versions, the POS may not have printed itemized details on receipts for credit card orders, even if it was configured to do so. In such cases, the POS did still print itemized details for cash orders; it only ignored them for credit card orders. We have corrected this, and now when you set a room to print detailed transaction receipts, the POS does so properly when printing receipts for credit card orders.
