What's New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
GNX-5692 Support for setting unshared printers as POS default or backup printers
You can now select unshared printers as default or backup printers in Genius POS. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Settings. In the Location Settings screen, click the Apps tab. In the Apps tab, if you select the Allow Unshared Kitchen Prints check box, the POS will allow you to select an unshared printer as a default or backup printer in the POS Printers screen. In the POS Home screen, tap the Options button (), then tap Settings, then tap Printers. In the Printers screen, if you have enabled the Allow Unshared Kitchen Prints check box, the POS will display unshared printers as options in the Default printer for formats and Backup printer for formats areas. If you clear the Allow Unshared Kitchen Prints check box, the POS will not display unshared printers as options in the Default printer for formats and Backup printer for formats areas.
GNX-6726 Support for kilogram weight scales
We have added the Weighted per Kilogram option to the Measurement list in the Items screen. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Menu, then click Items. In the Items screen, select an existing item. In the item's Settings screen, the Measurement list enables you to select an appropriate measurement method for a menu item sold in measured units of weight. In the Measurement list, if you select the Weighted per Kilogram option, cashiers will be able to weigh the item with a weight scale and calculate its price per kilogram of weight. The POS, Online Ordering, and Kiosk all support and display items with prices based on price per kilogram.
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
GNX-5655 "OUT" items display properly in POS Item Stock management screen
In previous versions, if you set a menu item's stock level to "0" in the POS Item Stock Management screen, the POS may have displayed the item's label improperly. In the POS Home screen, tap the Options button, then tap Settings, then tap Item Stock Management. in the Item Stock Management screen, if you set an item's stock level to "0", the POS displays the item's status as OUT. However, if you did this in previous versions, the POS may have moved the item's label to the next line. We have corrected this, and now when you set an item's stock level to "0", the POS displays the OUT status and the item's label properly.
GNX-6042 POS prints guest names properly on kitchen slips
In previous versions, the POS may not have included guest names on its kitchen slips. The problem only occurred in locations with the following settings:
- In the Rooms screen, the Separate Kitchen Slips check box was enabled and the Print Guest Info list was set to Both.
- In the Display Formats screen, the Separate Kitchen Slips list was set to By Seat.
In such cases, if you added an item to a ticket, then associated the item with a seat number and a guest number, then sent the ticket to the kitchen printers, the POS may have omitted the guest name from the kitchen slip. We have corrected this, and the POS now prints guest names properly on kitchen slips.
GNX-6047 POS Payment screen displays accurate Change Due amounts when processing cash transactions
In previous versions, when processing a cash transaction, the POS may have failed to display the Change Due screen properly. In such cases, if a customer overpaid a ticket with cash and had change due, the POS may have failed to display the Change Due amount in the Payment screen. We have corrected this, and the POS now displays Change Due amounts accurately and properly in the Payment screen when a customer overpays a ticket with cash.
GNX-6370 Genius POS no longer displays blank screen for receipts with over 20 items
In previous versions, if you added 20 or more items to a ticket, the POS may have been unable to display the receipt properly in the Receipt Preview panel. In such cases, if you tapped Receipt Preview for a ticket containing 20 or more items, the POS may have displayed an empty (blank) screen instead of the receipt's items and details. This problem only occurred on POS workstations set to use its local printer. We have corrected this, and the POS now displays receipts properly in the Receipt Preview panel for tickets with 20 or more items.
