Overview
This document describes the newly released Charge Upon Shipment feature in Heartland Retail for use with the BigCommerce integration. This feature allows you to take full advantage of the available functionality in BigCommerce, and supports syncing of related data to Heartland Retail. With this feature update, once an order is placed, regardless of payment status, it will sync to the point of sale, thereby facilitating better inventory management between both systems.

How It Works
In this section, we will demonstrate the updated flow for sales orders when using Heartland Retail for fulfillment.
To ensure that payments are still being processed on the BigCommerce side when you want to invoice the order in Heartland Retail, we have added a Charge Payment button in our system.
This button displays along with the previously available buttons for your sales orders.
When you select Charge Payment, the system will display a confirmation prompt.
Select Confirm to initiate the charge to the customer in BigCommerce.
Once the payment is completed, the Confirm button will turn blue, indicating it is now active and can be selected.
Once you select Confirm, you should see a notification in the top right corner of the screen indicating that the payment was successfully charged.
As well, the payment status will now update to Complete in the Payments section for the order.
At this point, you can invoice and complete the order as normal.
