What's New?
The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
GNX-231 Support for performing Store-and-Forward transactions with Reader device
On Genius (NextGen) POS, you can perform Store-and-Forward transactions with the Reader device. The Store-and-Forward enables sites to perform and store credit card transactions while disconnected from the Internet or the Genius processor. For a detailed description of the Store-and-Forward feature, review our article on "Store and Forward with Reader Setup Guide".
GNX-264 Genius POS Support for PAX devices
Genius (NextGen) POS now supports performing and processing credit card transactions with the following PAX devices:
- A35
- A920
- S300
- S920
GNX-2887 Support for performing automatic surcharges with Reader device
Genius (NextGen) POS can now apply automatic surcharges to credit card transactions performed with the Reader device. For a detailed description of the Surcharges feature, review our article on "Surcharge with Reader Setup Guide".
GNX-3650 Genius POS Support for Dark Mode
We have introduced a Dark Mode display theme to Genius (NextGen) POS on all supported devices. This theme reduces eye strain in low-light environments. In the POS Home screen, tap the Options button, then tap Settings. In the Manager Settings menu, tap General. In the General screen, we have added the App Theme and Customer Display Theme switches.
If you set the App Theme to Dark, the POS will display its screens and controls in Dark Mode. If you select Light (its default setting), the POS will display itself in Light Mode.
If you set the Customer Display Theme to Dark, the CFD will display its screens and controls in Dark Mode. If you select Light (its default setting), the CFD will display in Light Mode.
At this time, the POS cannot display its reports in Dark Mode. This will be added in a later release.
At this time, all Como screens only display in Light Mode, regardless of the App Theme and Customer Display Theme settings. Como support for Dark Mode will also be added in a later release.
GNX-6287 POS includes modifiers when sending transaction data to Como
In previous versions, if your location uses the Como loyalty service, you may have encountered a problem. In certain circumstances, if a Como customer ordered an item with modifiers, the POS may have failed to include the modifiers when transmitting the transaction's data to the Como service. In such cases, the POS included all items but omitted their modifiers. We have corrected this, and now when a Como customer orders an item with modifiers, the POS includes the item and the modifiers when sending transaction data to Como.
GNX-6373 Genius POS now supports Roll Up Duplicates feature on printed customer receipts
Genius (NextGen) POS now supports the Roll Up Duplicates feature for printed receipts. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Customer Receipt. In the Customer Receipt screen, on the Display tab, the Roll Up Duplicates check box enables you to set the POS to roll up identical items, discounts, and adjustments on printed receipts. If a receipt includes any multiple identical items, discounts, or adjustments, the POS will print those identical items on a single line with an updated quantity number.
Updates
The following release notes detail the fixes we have included in this release.
GNX-3955 POS applies size-based pricing rules properly
In previous versions, if your location uses pricing rules, you may have encountered a problem. Specifically, if you created a pricing rule to apply to items when a specific size is selected, but the rule was not associated with any specific item, the POS may have failed to apply it to applicable items. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Menu, then click Pricing. In the Pricing Rules screen, select an existing pricing rule. In the Settings panel, in the Pricing area, if you select Item/Size in the Select a Menu Category list, the program displays the Select an Item and Select a Size lists. Normally, you can select a size in the Select a Size list without selecting any items in the Select an Item list, thereby creating a rule that applies to any item ordered with a specific size.
However, in previous versions, the POS may not have applied such a pricing rule to applicable items. In such cases, the POS only applied such pricing rules if they were associated with one or more specific menu items. We have corrected this, and now when you create a pricing rule for a particular size but no specific items, the POS applies it properly to all applicable items.
GNX-6690 POS prints detailed transaction receipts properly for credit card orders
In previous versions, the POS may have failed to print detailed transaction receipts for credit card orders, even when configured to do so. In the Admin Console's Main Menu, click Location Setup, then click Rooms. In the Rooms screen, select an existing room. In the room's Settings screen, if you select the Detailed Transaction Receipts check box, the POS includes itemized details on printed receipts for credit card and house account transactions processed in the room.
However, in previous versions, the POS may not have printed itemized details on receipts for credit card orders, even if it was configured to do so. Instead, the POS printed only the top part of the receipt, but no details. In such cases, the POS did still print detailed receipts for cash orders; it only ignored them for credit card orders. We have corrected this, and now when you set a room to print detailed transaction receipts, the POS does so properly when printing receipts for credit card orders.
