The following release notes detail the enhancements we have included in this release.
HRTL-10858 Implement Automatic Firmware Updates for Heartland Reader
With this release, upon launch, Heartland Retail will automatically check for firmware updates for your connected Heartland Reader. If it detects an available update, it will notify you and allow you to install immediately or wait until later.
- If you select Install Now, the POS will automatically download and install the update, and will display ‘Update firmware’ notification.
- If you select Remind Me Later, the system will defer the update for 30 minutes, after which it will once again display the firmware update prompt.
Once successfully updated, the POS will display a notification to that effect.

HRTL-11446 Add Purchase Category Status Groups to Analysis Reports
This release includes three new analysis report groups for purchasing, including:
- Purchase Order >> Status
- Purchase Receipt >> Status
- Purchase Return >> Status
These groupings allow users to easily see the various statuses of their purchasing activities. When these groupings are selected, reports will display as follows:
- When the purchase order/receipt/return number is present within the reporting groups, the status shown will group items first by number and then by the associated status.
- When the purchase order/receipt/return number is not present within the reporting groups, the items will be grouped only by status.
HRTL-11660 Allow Use of Manually Added Epson Printer on iPad
In previous versions, merchants using iPads were sometimes unable to use manually added Epson printers in the POS. This release implements support for such printers with the iPad so merchants can now use them in the POS.

The following release notes detail the updates we have included in this release.
HRTL-9724 Automatically Void Pending Card Payments on Voided Tickets
In previous versions, pending card payments on voided tickets sometimes remained in processor batches when they should have been voided along with their associated tickets. With this release, the POS automatically checks for such payments and, if detected, voids them.
HRTL-10556 Fixed Amount Field Behavior on Payment Screen
In previous versions, when adding a payment to an on-hold ticket, if you left the required Amount field empty, the POS gave no indication of its required status. We have updated the behavior so that, if you leave the Amount field empty, upon finalizing the payment via the Add Payment button, the POS will outline the Amount field in red and display a message below it reading ‘Field cannot be empty.’
HRTL-11934 Fixed PDF Export Issue with Special Character on iOS 17+
In previous versions, if you attempted to export a report to PDF with a special character in its name on a system running iOS 17 or later, the export would generate but the file name would include only those characters before the special character. For example, if you named your export ‘Sales & Returns by Hour’, the resulting export would be named only ‘Sales’. With this release, such file names remain intact as expected.
HRTL-12096 Remove Extra ‘Credit Card’ Payment Option
We have identified and corrected an issue that caused some systems to display an extra Credit Card payment option on the tender screen. With this release, the Credit Card option displays only once as intended.
HRTL-12116 Fixed Coupon Limitation Checkbox Behavior
In previous versions, if you attempted to uncheck the Limit number of times this discount can be used in total on an existing coupon, upon saving, the check would sometimes revert to checked status. This occurred when the value in the Number field was greater than zero. With this release, the unchecked status saves as expected, regardless of the Number value.
HRTL-12165 Fixed MailChimp Connectivity Issue
In previous versions, some merchants were unable to connect to MailChimp. In these instances, after selecting Connect and entering their credentials, the POS would display an error stating, ‘Sorry, we are unable to connect you to MailChimp’. With this release, users can connect to MailChimp as expected.
HRTL-12174 Remove HRC Update Banner from POS Ticket Screen
In previous versions, the HRC update banner sometimes displayed at the top of the POS ticket screen on iOS and Android systems. Since devices running these operating systems do not use HRC, this banner is not only unnecessary but also potentially confusing. With this in mind, we have removed it from the ticket screens on these systems.
